Spycamera: The Minox Story Morris Moses
Book DescriptionThe first edition of this popular book for collectors was published in 1990 and ended the story of Minox in 1989. Since then a lot has happened to Minox, including bankruptcy and then the take over by Leica GmbH. This new edition brings the story up-to-date, and includes many new color and black and white photos. Morris Moses is the leading American authority on the Minox camera and was the author of the major part of this book. He has traced the history of Minox and its inventor, Walter Zapp, whose vision of a high quality, very small camera began with pre-war production in Latvia. He continues the story through the post-war move to what was then West Germany, describing the history and specifications of the subminiature cameras, coupled with stories and photographs of how they were used in covert operations, alongside others taken with the Minox, sometimes illegally. He also covers the birth of the 35mm Minox, as well as details of advertising promotional items......

To make matters worse, Ernie's dad is dating Cat Lady, and Ernie's teammates think it's a big joke. But just when it seems like all is lost, Ernie comes up with a plan: He'll enlist Dusty and open his own charm school. Plan Of Attack (Wheeler Large Print Book Series) Bob Woodward
Amazon.comThe 2003 American invasion of Iraq was contentious, not just in the arena of global public opinion, but within the tight-lipped world of the George W. Bush White House. As Bob Woodward reveals in Plan of Attack , Vice-President Dick Cheney and Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld were part of a group leading the charge to war while Secretary of State Colin Powell, General Tommy Franks, and others actively questioned the plan to invade a country that had nothing to do with the 9/11 attacks while war in Afghanistan was still being waged. Woodward gained extensive access to dozens of key figures and enjoyed hours of direct contact with the President himself (more time, seemingly, than former Bush administration officials Richard Clarke and PaulO'Neill claim to have had). As a result, he's able to cite the kind of gossip you won't find in a White House press release: Franks calls Pentagon official Douglas Feith "the f*cking stupidest guy on the face of the earth," Powell......

The 24th Wisconsin Infantry in the Civil War: The Biography of a Regiment William J. K. Beaudot
Book DescriptionFormed in the summer of 1862, the 24th Wisconsin Infantry participated in many major battles of the Western theater, earning a reputation as a brave, hard-fighting unit. Unlike other unit histories, this book makes no attempt, as the author freely admits, to provide "an objective history" of the regiment. Rather, the book digs deeper, following the personal stories of the soldiers themselves, providing hundreds of individual vignettes that, taken together, paint a vivid picture of the life of a Union soldier. Includes the personal stories of members of the 24th, including Arthur McArthur, the father of General Douglas MacArthur....
